Are Angels Considering Trading Mike Trout?

Espuelazo Puro
Although Mike Trout has six more years remaining on his MLB contract with the Los Angeles Angels, his departure through a possible trade is not entirely ruled out.
Trout, a three-time MVP winner and once considered the best baseball player in the world, has not been a factor in making his team a title contender during his 14 seasons in Major League Baseball.
Even with teammates like Albert Pujols and Shohei Ohtani, the Angels have only managed to reach the postseason once, in 2014, when they were eliminated in the Division Series by the Kansas City Royals.
Although it is not entirely up to him, Mike Trout could request a trade from the Angels in the future. However, for another organization to show interest in acquiring the star center fielder, he must prove that he has put behind the numerous injuries he has dealt with in recent years.
Since the 2021 season, Trout has spent most of his time on the injured list. But his situation has been more critical in the past two seasons, playing only 111 regular-season games out of the possible 324.
To make matters worse, the hefty salary Trout still has left to be paid could be an obstacle for other teams to pursue his services in a trade. Between 2025 and 2030, Trout is set to earn more than $222 million in salary.
